The coat of arms of the Artillery Group No. 7 "CABO MINACHO", consists of two circles, one of which contains the other, among these in the upper part the phrase ARTILLERY GROUP is inscribed and in the
bottom CABO MINACHO.

On February 3, 1912, Luis Alfonso Minacho Padilla was born in the province of Loja, by investigation carried out by Mr. Hugo Martínez, presumably his parents were Mr. José María Minacho and Doña Mercedes Padilla; He came from a modest home, he did not have the complete education that he would have liked to have had.

The emergence of the Artillery in Loja occurred in 1942, the same that was located in Loja, Cariamanga and Pózul, with the purpose of stopping the invader from the south, the material that this Artillery had was constituted by the 65/17 howitzers , the same ones who, after the divergences between the two countries were overcome, joined their Unit of origin.

The designation of the Elite Unit, arises from the year 1995, as an instrument of motivation to the units that have stood out in the field, operational and administrative, contributing substantively in the increase of a better institutional image.
